Kimberly Taylor Judy
Founder & Lead Instructor & Course Development

With over 20 years in the self-defense industry and a background as a federal police officer and private security specialist, Kimberly Taylor Judy brings unmatched real-world experience to the training room. She’s protected diplomats, celebrities, and executives—and now she equips everyday professionals with the same tactical edge.
Kimberly founded Move with Purpose to bridge a critical gap in the defense industry. Her mission?
To train people to think, move, and act with purpose—before, during, and after a threat.
Her unique method focuses on:

  • Tactical Awareness – Spotting danger before it escalates
  • Strategic Movement – Knowing when to engage, evade, or escape
  • Mental Resilience – Staying sharp under pressure
She believes preparedness is power—and it starts with a training mindset

Abigail Harrington
Assistant Instructor - Women's & Teens Defense

Abigail was born and raised in Williamsburg, VA, where she was first introduced to firearms through 4-H Youth Shooting Sports. She later spent several years managing boxing gyms in downtown Richmond, VA, where she helped organize the gym’s first free women-only boxing workshop designed to make the sport more accessible and approachable for beginners. Now based in Fredericksburg, Abigail works as a project and operations coordinator at a local creative agency. Whether working with people or processes, she’s passionate about removing barriers—creating environments where others feel more confident stepping into something new, and streamlining systems to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.

Lou Kelley
Assistant Instructor - Children's & Family Safety Courses;
Firearms Instructor

Lou Kelley is a retired Marine with 21 years of service. During his time in the Marine Corps, Lou was selected to work with a Joint Service Special Mission unit. Lou served in many countries
cross the globe and had the opportunity to work with some of America's most elite military members. Lou has extensive training in many areas to include firearms, and personal defensive measures designed to avoid or get out of potentially hostile situations.  After retiring from active duty, Lou worked as a government contractor and civil service employee for over fifteen years.
Subsequently, Lou opened his own company where he coaches and provides corporate learning and development training. As a husband and father of three young adults who all enjoy shooting sports and firearms, Lou considers training and education in the safe use of firearms paramount for any firearm owner. While his children were growing up, Lou served as a Scout leader for over eighteen years. During that time, Lou helped train hundreds of young people from all walks of life to safely handle firearms and enjoy the outdoors. Lou believes safety is not just something you do at public ranges; safety is a deliberate choice, it is something you practice all the time, and you teach your family and friends to be the same way.

Julia Trejo

Lead Female Defense & S/A Instructor: Women, College Students, Young Adult, Mother/Daughter Courses
Firearms Shooting & Handling Instructor : Pistol, Shotgun, Rifle

Julia is a Marine Corps veteran, Homemaker, and homeschooling mom who is passionate about her faith, family, and teaching others how to move with purpose each day. As a former black belt Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor, Combat Marksmanship Coach, and Trainer, Julia has had extensive experience practicing and teaching others how to not only defend themselves, but to make things like mindset, adaptability, situational awareness, and self defense a way of life. When she wasn’t out training or on the mats, Julia served in Finance and Acquisitions in the Marines, traveling across multiple countries and assisting in joint exercises with foreign militaries. After Julia was married, she and her husband went on to grow their family which presented a new challenge to her:  to reframe what she had learned and adapt it to her new situation. Because Julia is a mom of many, she has had plenty of hands-on practice in the very tactics and techniques she teaches. Julia is not just passionate about keeping herself and her family safe and prepared for hard things - she is passionate about teaching you to do the same!
